The lion, annoyed by the ass's boasting, sought to teach him a lesson. He devised a plan with a clever hare, known for his wit.

The lion pretended to be ill, announcing that he would only be cured by consuming the flesh of an intelligent creature. The hare, aware of the lion's trickery, approached the lion with a solution.

The hare explained that the only way to cure the lion was by creating a soup made from the combined wisdom of the three animals: the lion, the ass, and the hare.
